Patience is Key

March 30, 2015
Happy Easter!!!! (And General Conference Weekend!)

Yesterday was amazing!!! Of course as you already know we had a baptism!! It was a little crazy trying to work out all the details but it finally happened and everything went perfectly! Because she does speak mostly spanish the whole baptism was half and half so that was pretty cool. I just wish I would've taken more spanish in high school so I could understand more and communicate with her better. Oh well, too late for that... But the bishop still wants us to teach her English so we will see how that goes haha:) But her daughter and neighbor came (both non-members) and we were able to give the neighbor a Book of Mormon so we will see what happens with that. We just now need to start working on the daughter:)

Then last night we were also able to have another amazing lesson with Brother Topley. They weren't able to make it to church yesterday because Sister Topley had hurt her ankle but thats ok. But in the lesson the spirit was so strong!! We tried so hard to get him on date but no luck yet. He is hopefully going to pray about a date and then we will see!! I am just nervous I am going to get transferred next week and miss the baptism:( But I guess it is whatever God has planned:) Even if he does get baptized after I leave I can still feel accomplished and happy that he has made the decision! It will be hard though...

Other than that we have been teaching member lessons like crazy!! We were so close to 20 lessons yet again but just fell short. We WILL get it!!! We have been calling people like crazy but it is hard with Easter weekend and everyone's busy schedules so we understand:) But if there is anything I learned this week it is that patience is so key to missionary work. Nothing happens in our time, but in the Lord's time.

If I stay another transfer we will be moving out of our luxurious house to a pretty sweet basement apartment. So even if I don't get transferred I will still have to pack haha:)

Sorry this is really short but I guess I don't have much to say this week... I hope you have an amazing time at conference and I will be looking out for you on t.v. Also have a fun Easter!!! We don't have anything planned besides conference but it will be so great! I can't wait!!!! I love you all so much!!! Jesus loves you:)

Scriptures of the Week:

"Behold, there are many calledbut few are chosen. And whare they not chosen?
Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this worldand aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson—
That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, anthat the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.
That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sinsor to gratify our prideour vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grievedand when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man." (D&C 121:34-37)
The priesthood is so amazing!! You probably already saw my post on Facebook about this but I truly have seen how great a blessing the priesthood is in our lives. And we should treat it with much more respect!! It is truly the power of God on Earth!! I hope you are able to see how great this blessing is and how everyone can benefit from it male and female!:)
